Week 16 report

This week, we met together in class on Monday and used the yellow stickies method to figure

out our the main problems that are remained to be solved in order to build our project. A photo

of the yellow stickies method is attached below.

Using the yellow stickies method, we determined that we would add the foot pedal design into

our project, and ideally we would also add automation in the design after we make sure the

whole mechanism works manually. We have set up a meeting next Friday to meet with our client

Mr. Trincal to mainly talk about the foot pedal design mechanism and the coding part of the

design.

Regarding the foot pedal design, we met on Wednesday and discussed that we want the foot

pedal to lift the feeder plate/clamp when it is pushed, and the clamp should be secured on the

cuvette when the foot pedal is released. However, we need to figure out the mechanism,

materials involved in this part, and we might need a student in mechanical engineering for help

as well. Another big concern is how to stabilize the whole system, and how to seal the clamp

with the cuvette when the foot pedal is released. We will discuss these further with Mr. Trincal,

and we plan to have a material list as soon as possible for us to build the project.
